With Winter Break over, students have discussed the families that have visited and the places they have went, but teachers are forgotten in the midst of all the vacation tales. In the slideshow below, various faculty discuss their holiday activities.
Librarian Kim Martin had her son and his girlfriend drive from their college to see her. On Christmas Eve they looked at Christmas lights, a tradition in their family.
"We had a family Christmas Eve dinner that was at my house and my sister-in-law and brother-in-law and their three children came... and of course my mother and pa was there. And then my family, my husband, myself, and then my two children," Art teacher Michaela Hanna said.
"Instead of visiting, [my family] came over to visit me because I have the new baby," Spanish teacher Sheyla Rodriguez said. "When its close to midnight we gather around the Christmas tree and we exchange gifts and we sing songs in Spanish and play instruments."
"I went to Galveston, went to the beach, played in the sand," Avid teacher Jennifer Reker said. On Christmas day Reker's father made breakfast and the family opened presents from youngest to oldest.
